The National Museum of Natural History in Paris is gearing up to illuminate the Parisian nights with the fifth edition of its spectacular festival "En voie d’illumination." After captivating visitors with themes as diverse as endangered species, oceans, the evolution of life, and tiny fauna, this year, the Jardin des Plantes invites us on a magical journey through the humid tropical forests of the world.
Exploring Dazzling Biodiversity
From November 22, 2023, to January 21, 2024, the "Jungle en voie d’illumination" exhibition will transport visitors on a nocturnal exploration of the tropical forests of Asia, Oceania, South America, and Africa. These regions are home to more than half of the known animal and plant species across the globe.
The exhibition offers a enchanting and educational journey, shedding light on the hidden treasures of these extraordinary ecosystems. From formidable felines to astonishing frogs, and giant flowers, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the richness and diversity of the fauna and flora of humid tropical forests.
An Immersive and Enlightening Experience
The heart of Paris will beat to the rhythm of nature with an immersive exhibition composed of hundreds of illuminated structures, several of which will come to life. Visitors will be immersed in an enchanted atmosphere, illuminating the night in the City of Lights.
This exhibition promises a nocturnal journey around the world to discover the fauna and flora of humid tropical forests, blending the magic of lights with the preservation of biodiversity.
A Luminous Legacy: Awareness and Protection
Beyond the visual wonder, the festival aims to raise awareness about the protection of these fragile ecosystems. The National Museum of Natural History continues its commitment to biodiversity conservation, inviting everyone to contribute to the preservation of these natural treasures.
From Evolution to the World of Minuscule: A Bright Return
This initiative follows the resounding success of the previous edition, which took over 300,000 visitors on a journey through evolution. The theme of the "World of Minuscule" continues this exploration, highlighting insects and other tiny creatures through enlarged light structures.
