What is the Mobility Lease ? The Mobility Lease is a type of temporary rental contract introduced in France in November 2018. It allows you to rent a property for a period of between 1 and 10 months, without having to provide the usual guarantees required for a standard rental agreement.

The Mobility Lease is designed to facilitate professional mobility, particularly for young professionals, interns, students, and people undergoing professional training or on temporary assignments. It can be renewed once, for a maximum duration of 10 months.

The Mobility Lease offers great flexibility for both the tenant and the landlord: the tenant can leave the property at any time, with one month's notice, and the landlord can quickly reclaim their property without having to justify their decision or initiate an eviction process.

LInsurance for a Mobility Lease ? The Mobility Lease requires the tenant to take out home insurance, as is the case for any rental agreement in France. The insurance must cover damage to the property, as well as any water damage, fires, or explosions.

It is important to note that the tenant must provide proof of insurance before moving in. This proof must be given to the landlord or their legal representative.

The Mobility Lease offers some flexibility when it comes to home insurance, as it is possible to take out insurance for a period equivalent to the length of the rental contract. Thus, if the mobility lease is concluded for a period of 6 months, home insurance can also be taken out for 6 months.

It is also possible to take out home insurance for a longer period than the rental contract. In this case, it is advisable to include an early termination clause, so as not to pay for insurance during a period when the property is no longer occupied. What are the advantages of the Mobility Lease ? The advantages of the Mobility Lease are multiple :

Flexibility : The Mobility Lease offers great flexibility to tenants who can rent a property for a limited period without a long-term commitment. This allows them to more easily adapt to their professional or personal constraints.

Accessibility : The Mobility Lease does not require the same guarantees as a traditional rental agreement (such as a guarantor or security deposit), making it more accessible for those in precarious situations or for students.

Simplicity : The Mobility Lease is easy to set up and does not require complex administrative procedures. Simply sign a rental agreement with the landlord and take out home insurance.

Legal protection : The Mobility Lease is regulated by law and offers legal protection to tenants in case of disputes with the landlord.

Professional mobility : The Mobility Lease is particularly suitable for people who are professionally mobile (interns, students, seasonal workers, etc.) who can rent a property for a limited period without having to bear the constraints of a traditional lease.
