Airport Transportation

Updated: Apr 28, 2023

How to get to my accommodation in Paris from one of the Paris airports ? ✈️

Below you will find all possible options for getting to your accommodation from Paris airports, which I have personally tried and wanted to share with you to make your trip easier.

BEAUVAIS AIRPORT :

If you arrive at Beauvais Airport, which unfortunately is far from Paris, you must take the Navette bus from the airport to Porte Maillot. The Navette bus takes 1 hour and 15 minutes (without traffic) directly to Porte Maillot.

Tickets can be purchased at Beauvais Airport before leaving the airport at a vending machine or at the Navette bus station ticket counter, or online on the official website. Personally, I recommend buying tickets online to save time and go straight to the bus after landing. Besides, it's probably better to pay online than to take out your card or cash in a public place.

Tickets are valid for a year from the date of purchase, so you can take any Navette bus at the time that suits you. Buses are assigned to flights (destinations), but these are only recommended departures for a given flight. If you have a flight from Beauvais, we recommend leaving earlier (i.e., taking the bus recommended for your flight) because there is a good chance that you will arrive at the airport a little later due to traffic in the city.

Another option, if you are a couple or a whole family, is to take a private transporter that will take you from door to door. This will save you time if you don't hit the worst traffic during peak hours of 7-9:30 a.m. and 4:30-7 p.m. and if you don't enter the center of Paris.

ORLY AIRPORT :

If you are arriving at Orly airport, the easiest way to get to Paris is to take OrlyVal, which will take you to the RER B station in Antony. The OrlyVal ride costs 10 EUR one way and unfortunately, public transport tickets are not valid on it. In a few years, the metro will run to the airport, but we still have to wait a bit. I recommend this transport option for people who need to get to Chatelet or further and do not want to waste time.

There are also cheaper options such as OrlyBus, which will take you to Denfert-Rochereau. This is a good option for people who have booked accommodation in the southern part of Paris or in the 13th, 14th or 15th district.

The last option is the T7 tram, which will definitely be the cheapest option, although you will have to walk 10 minutes from the airport to the nearest tram station. The tram goes to Villejuif, where you can transfer to metro line 7, which passes through districts 13, 5, 1, 2, 9, 10, and 19.

Another option is a private transfer or transportation providers such as Uber, Bolt, or Hitch. If you are traveling to the south, southwest, or southeast of Paris and there are 3 or 4 of you, this may be very cost-effective (often cheaper than taking OrlyVal). Prices are higher during rush hour, which will also lengthen your travel time.

CHARLES DE GAULLE AIRPORT :

If you are arriving at Charles de Gaulle airport, you have very good access by RER B train to Paris from terminals 1 & 3 and 2. I recommend choosing a train that goes directly to Gare du Nord (1 direct trip out of 2 or 3 trips to Paris), then it does not stop in towns along the way, which is calmer when it comes to watching luggage and personal belongings.

Another option is a private transfer, taxi or transportation providers such as Uber, Bolt, or Hitch. If you are traveling to Paris or the immediate outskirts and there are 3 or 4 of you, this may be very cost-effective. Prices are higher during rush hour, which will also lengthen your travel time. It is worth knowing that a taxi has fixed prices for travel to Paris itself (Rive Gauche 58 EUR, and Rive Droite 53 EUR).

OTHER OPTIONS :

You have the option to rent a car at any of the three airports if you need to. I just want to emphasize that a car is not recommended in Paris due to heavy traffic and paid parking (6 EUR-6.50 EUR per hour in the center of Paris), but it may come in handy if you want to visit Versailles or Disneyland (where parking will also be paid) or explore further regions.

There is also carpooling (covoiturage) through the BlaBlaCar app, where you can find a person who has a free space in their car and is going the same way as you. Sometimes Polish people living in France use the app, but generally, you have to speak French to communicate with the driver.

We hope that this will help you choose the best option so that your journey will not exhaust you and that you arrive safely and healthy, especially ready to explore.

When booking accommodation on My Housepitality, we will send you precise directions on how to get to the apartment, so you won't get lost. Be sure to share this article with friends who are planning a stay in Paris! 😊
